Wednesday, November 1 2006
Wisconsin will offer two new loan programs to help more minority-owned businesses get started. Education and outreach are also part of the initiative announced at the 25th annual Governor's Conference of Minority Business Development in Milwaukee in September. The "Get Started" Micro Loan Program will offer start-up loans of up to $5,000, and the "Get Growing" Loan Program will have up to $100,000 available for new businesses seeking to expand. The Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Network will add an outreach specialist for minority entrepreneurs, and the Department of Commerce will provide scholarships to the PeerSpectives peer learning programs.
