Polyelectrolytic complexes provide durability to added-value.(Finishing)

NanoTex LLC of Oakland, California, USA, has patented a way to impart a performance enhancing property to a fabric that is claimed to be durable enough to withstand many (25 or more) domestic launderings.

International Patent WO 2006/015080 describes compositions consisting of a complex between an anionic and a cationic polymer, one of which also has a functional group responsible for the performance-enhancing characteristic. The Patent also describes how to apply these polyelectrolytic complexes to the fabrics.
