Card-Monroe Corp says it has developed an improved gate assembly for a tufting machine.
Disclosing its invention in International Patent WO 2005/054561, the company from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, says that conventional broadloom tufters contain hundreds of gates mounted below each hook and that these serve to determine whether or not loops are cut or released by the hook.
