RALEIGH -- A federal judge has approved liquidation of two businesses started by the late Ronnie Shavlik, the former N.C. State basketball star, and run by his son and son-in-law since 1983. Southeastern Janitorial Supply and Carolina Maintenance Co. were converted from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7 bankruptcies, which will force sale of assets to pay debts. Among them are liens totaling $4.7 million filed by the Internal Revenue Service for unpaid employee-withholding taxes, penalties and interest dating to 1996.
