Rivkin Radler, Long Island's largest law firm, is dissolving its office in Santa Rosa, Calif.

The 10 attorneys in that office will practice under the name McMillan & Schureen and will be led by Donald McMillan. The change will be effective Aug. 31.

McMillan, originally from Huntington, worked in Uniondale before moving to the firm's California office. He declined to discuss the terms of the deal that led to the changes.

The decision to separate ourselves from the California office is a reflection of our shifting business strategies and objectives, said Laurie Bloom, the firm's spokesperson, who declined to discuss further details.

The firm's California office focuses on insurance defense work. It also has a significant real estate and corporate practice.

In addition to the Uniondale office, Rivkin Radler has operations in Manhattan and New Jersey.
