Linda Savino returns to head sales efforts at LI Convention & Visitors Bureau

Linda Savino has returned to the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau & Sports Commission in Hauppauge as director of sales in its meetings and conventions department.

Savino worked for the LICVB&SC from 1995 to 1999, prior to moving to Las Vegas to work as marketing director

In 2001, she returned to Long Island and worked for Long Island Hotels in Hauppauge as vice president of sales and marketing.

"I'm happy to be back at LICVB&SC," Savino said. "During the time I spent working in Las Vegas, I learned a lot about Internet and E- mail marketing as well as Web site development."

"In addition, holding positions on the hotel side of the business gave me a fresh perspective on hotel occupancy issues that is particularly relevant to the current Long Island hotel market."

LICVB&SC's strategy includes tapping into regional markets -- particularly the Albany association market, she said.

In addition, LICVB&SC will be hosting a May tour for meeting planners; participate in eight trade shows; host a luncheon in Washington for government, corporate and association meeting planners; and will be conducting sales blitzes.
