Carl Corry will replace Peter Mantius as editor of Long Island Business News effective Dec. 5.

Corry, the newspaper's managing editor since March 2001, previously worked as an Internet and spot news reporter for financial news site CBS.Marketwatch.com.

Mantius is leaving to pursue other interests after leading the paper for almost three years.

It has been a pure joy to work with Peter in building Long Island Business News into the force it is today, Corry said. Aside from being my boss, he has been a mentor and a close friend. I wish him the best in his future endeavors and hope to lead the paper with similar professionalism and journalistic excellence.

Corry, a graduate of Stony Brook University, is serving his second term as president of the Press Club of Long Island, a local chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Before his stint at CBS Marketwatch in Manhattan, he was a reporter for Long Island Business News and a freelance writer for Newsday and other local publications.

Carl is smart, dedicated, plugged in and full of new ideas, Mantius said. LIBN couldn't be left in better hands.
