State has $4M for rural hospitals in CNY and Finger Lakes

Nearly $4 million in grants has been earmarked by the state for Central New York rural hospitals.

The state has $9.2 million in grant funding for New York's 51 rural hospitals to further strengthen access. to health care for more than 3.2 million New Yorkers living in rural and sparsely populated

areas. The rural health grants awarded mark a nine-year, $60-million commitment by the state to New York's rural hospitals and communities.

Under the Health Care Reform Act, the Rural Health Care Access Development Program (RHCADP) provides funds to the state's rural hospitals to support initiatives and programs that will help reduce duplication of services, enhance operational efficiencies, and strengthen affiliations with community-based providers.
