MANLIUS - Voss Signs, LLC has purchased a new home.
The Manlius-based manufacturer, which produces custom and stock signs for long-term, outdoor use, recently purchased a 33,900-square-foot industrial facility at 112 Fairgrounds Drive in Manlius. The building was formerly occupied by PPC, a
Jerry Alan Menter and his wife Ann own half of Voss Signs and manage Hollowick, Inc., a manufacturer of restaurant table lighting, while brother James and his wife Deborah own the other half of Voss Signs and manage the company.
"We reached the point where we had to decline selected new business because there was not room to physically process any more large orders," says Jerry Alan Menter.
The two brothers originally purchased Voss Signs, which has been operating in Manlius for more than 30 years, from Jack and Sue Voss in 1998.
Although they wouldn't release specific figures, Jerry says Voss Signs has grown significantly since they purchased the company.
About 8,000 square feet of the Fairgrounds Drive location in Manlius has been rented to engineering firm Smartech Systems, Inc. The remaining 26,000 square feet that remains for Voss's operations is more than double the 12,000 square feet at the company's original Oran Station Road facility.
The new building, which cost the Menters $502,000, does not require any renovations, and the company phone number will remain the same.
"We are excited about this move and look forward to further growth as we take our business to the next level," says Jerry Alan Menter.
