A Unified Voice Across The Garden State

New Jerseyans can expect to hear more coverage of their issues on the airwaves this fall. That's when Millennium Radio New Jersey will unify news coverage at the 12 Garden State radio stations owned by its parent, Millennium Radio Group. The budding network will offer hourly news spots and its October launch should help establish New Jersey as a distinct radio market for advertisers.
"This is the first time a cluster of radio stations have been assembled to serve a state rather than a single metropolitan area," says Charlie Banta, managing partner of the Millennium Radio Group.
The news network was unveiled at a press conference last week that drew Governor James E. McGreevey and U.S. Senator Robert Torricelli. "This will enable New Jersey residents to have a full understanding of New Jersey life, community and government," said McGreevey.
The network was created by a series of acquisitions announced last year by Banta. Millennium Radio Group is a partnership between New York City's UBS Capital Americas and Mercury Capital Partners of Amherst, New York. UBS is a private equity investment firm. Mercury Capital is a private equity fund with Banta as president.
