JACKSON - The Mississippi Army National Guard (MANG) has deployed mGen Inc.'s mGen Enterprise, a workforce readiness and organizational communications system. The mGen solution provides the soldiers of the MANG's 155th Armored Brigade with Web-based training, knowledge asset sharing and enhanced staff

certification training, along with the ability to maintain, track and assess the skills and certifications of each soldier and unit.

With mGen Enterprise. the MANG now has a centralized and secure news, knowledge and training portal, which is completely integrated with the Army Knowledge Online (AKO) system. Each time a guardsman logs into the system, mGen's secure News + Information module automatically updates and delivers internal and external (Internet) news feeds. Soldiers can receive unit news and information at the company, battalion and brigade levels through the secure AKO log on. Related documents such as training schedules can also be posted on the news and information site.

mGen Enterprise also enables the MANG to deliver an online classroom, providing units with the option of transitioning training mandates and initiatives online either in their entirety or in smaller subsets. As a result, guardsmen can be prepared in advance of monthly meetings, so that more time can be dedicated to drilling or collective training. In addition, through mGen's Human Capital Management module, the MANG can increase certainty of readiness or the "gap" to readiness either on an individual or group level. Skills and certifications in areas such as personnel, operations, intelligence and logistics can be searched and tracked according to a variety of demographics, allowing missions to be executed or modified according to the results.

"Now more than ever, Guard units must be prepared to tackle a variety of challenges," said Jack Battersby, president and CEO of Foxborough, Mass.-based mGen. "mGen assists state guards, like the Mississippi Army National Guard, with workforce readiness by leveraging the tremendous amount of intellectual capital each organization already contains."
