Having Lunch and Personal Growth with Business Leaders Together
Thursday, March 1 2001
Wishing to share not only leads, but also professional challenges and personal growth, Linn Back, an affiliate owner for Westaff, decided to get a group of friends and associates together for lunch.
"I knew several wonderful, absolutely dynamic women and wanted to have lunch with them once a month," she said. "So I decided to get a group together. They come from different walks of life and different occupations, but professions that were parallel to each other. It has been an excellent opportunity to further our own business ventures by resourcing from each other. What was so neat when we met, not only was it a leads groups but it was a resource group, too."
So through her own resources and other referrals, the Business Leaders Together (BLT) group of approximately 15 women meet on the first Thursday of each month to discuss whatever the topic of the day happens to be. "We do a lot of things at the lunch," said Malinda J. Larson, owner of Get Up and Grow. "It's not just sitting around and talking to the person next to you. A topic is thrown out on the table and we just beat the living daylights out of it, discussing it and playing around with it."
