Citadel Broadcasting Corp. is buying WCKW, known as 92.3 The Point, one of the last locally owned stations in New Orleans. A lease management arrangement has been agreed upon and the sale will close in early 2004, said Lee Killian, market manager for Citadel in New Orleans. Killian said the 100,000-watt station has one of the biggest sticks in town. Its 2,005-foot broadcast tower allows it to cover New Orleans to Lafayette and Baton Rouge.

Citadel, based in Las Vegas, Nev., recently bought New Orleans stations KMEZ-FM, KKND-FM, WPRF-FM and WOPR-FM from Wilks Broadcasting LLC.
