THE PACESETTER NORTHRIDGE FASHION CENTER

NORTHRIDGE Fashion Center, originally built in 1971, is the largest retail shopping center in the greater San Fernando Valley. With over 1.5 million square feet of leasable space, the mall contains 170 stores and is anchored by JC Penney, Macy's, Robinsons-May and Sears.

After experiencing damage in the 1994 Northridge earthquake, the mall expanded its North End to include an outdoor shopping area that includes a 10-screen Pacific Theaters, Borders Books, Circuit City, and many other stores, including a recently opened The Sharper Image store.

The mall hosts a seasonal farmer's market every Wednesday night, which will close for the season when the Daylight Saving Time ends on Oct. 31.

Following the popularity of the children's play area, which opened two years ago in the Macy's wing, another play area opened recently in the Robinson's-May wing.

Northridge Fashion Center is owned by General Growth Properties, Inc., a Chicago-based real estate investment trust that owns and/or manages over 170 regional shopping malls in 41 states.
