Brookfield Homes to Bring New Masterplanned Community to The City Of Ontario

In the last decade, the City of Ontario has emerged as a manufacturing, retail, and distribution hub and is quickly evolving into a center for corporate offices, large professional firms, and high technology. The city's unprecedented growth has attracted the attention of local homebuilders that recognize

the need for a variety of new housing in the area.

Brookfield Homes, based in Costa Mesa, will continue its award-winning tradition of crafting architecturally distinct homes in Southern California's most desirable neighborhoods with the introduction of Edenglen. Located on the corner of Mill Creek Avenue and Riverside Drive in Southern Ontario, Edenglen will consist of approximately 545 new single-family and multifamily homes designed for a variety of families and lifestyles.

Positive contribution to the community

According to Dave Bartlett, Vice President of Brookfield Homes Southland, Edenglen will reflect the City's vision for the New Model Colony, an 8,200-acre area located on the site of the former San Bernardino County Dairy Preserve.

"Edenglen will be pedestrian friendly, featuring various architectural styles with homes designed to provide a 'gift to the street' - a positive contribution to the community that will include porches, recessed garages, porte cochres - the very elements found in Ontario's historic communities today," he said. "In addition, we wanted to create a community that offered multiple housing programs, which will allow a diverse array of families in all life stages and price ranges to move-up in the community as their lifestyles and needs change."

Brookfield's signature style

The new community of Edenglen will reflect Brookfield's signature style, warmth and details with five diverse new-home collections, including three single-family collections and two multifamily collections. The highly detailed homes will range from approximately 1,000 to 3,500 square feet.

Edenglen will offer traditional architectural styles inspired by the historic homes of Ontario as well as modern features for comfortable living and convenience in an area near freeways, schools, retail stores, and local and regional employment centers. The community is situated adjacent to the Colony High School, providing families with high school-aged children easy walkability to and from school.

In addition to an outstanding location in Southern Ontario, Edenglen will provide future residents with a unique and rich community feel reminiscent of Ontario's nostalgic neighborhoods of the past. The heart and soul of the community, The Village Green, will include a central park approximately 4acres in size, a clubhouse, community pool, proposed country store, picnic areas, and tot lot.

Grading for Edenglen is expected to begin in fall 2005. A grand opening is expected in late 2006. For more information about Edenglen or any of Brookfield's communities across Southern California, call (877) 31-HOMES or log onto www.brookfieldsouthland.com.
