Marriott Hotel and Spa's new signature restaurant, Sam & Harry's, features all the specialties of a traditional steakhouse complemented with fresh seafood flown in daily in a casually sophisticated setting. The indoor dining room provides sweeping views of the hotel's pool area and lushly landscaped grounds. An outdoor terrace, complete with fire pits, lets diners enjoy the fresh ocean air while they savor the eatery's acclaimed cuisine.

Distinguished history, clientele

The original Sam & Harry's, located just five minutes from the White House, has been serving Washingtonians since 1990. Distinguished guests have included various presidents of the United States, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Julia Child, Nicolas Cage, Tom Selleck, Stan Musial, Mel Gibson, Sonny and Mary Bono, Walter Cronkite, and Harmon Killebrew, to name a few. The restaurant has been mentioned in six books, including Pierre Salinger's PS. A Memoir, and was proudly mentioned in the movie American President.

Awards and commendations

Sam & Harry's has received a number of awards and commendations including a place in Gourmet Magazine's 'Top Tables" and Nation's Restaurant News' "Hall of Fame." It is a DiRoNA(Distinguished Restaurants of North America) Award Winner, a member of the "Great Steakhouses of North America" and received the "People's Choice Award" - Favorite in Washington, DC - as well as Wine Spectator's "Best Award of Excellence."

Located just off the lobby of The Newport Beach Marriott hotel and Spa, Sam & Harry's is open daily for breakfast and lunch from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm, and dinner from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Reservations can be made by calling (949) 729-6900.

Diners also have the option of sitting down at the sushi bar in the hotel's alluring Lobby Lounge for cocktails and appetizers. It's the perfect spot to mingle, enjoy a beverage of choice and take in the sights and sounds. Guests on the go may choose to experience Starbucks, conveniently located in the lobby and serving coffee and freshly baked edibles from early morning into the evening hours.
