Royal Caribbean Settles with State for $3.5 Million.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines agreed to a $3.5 million settlement with the State of Alaska after admitting to dumping oily bilge water and other hazardous chemicals into state waters in 1994 and 1995, Attorney General Bruce Botelho announced.

The settlement is on top of a $6.5 million

fine paid by the cruise line to settle similar charges for dumping in Alaska waters brought under federal law.
