New software developments.

Nikolaus Sorg will be presenting two completely new system enhancement software developments. One system is used to measure electrode wear, and presents the operator with unambiguous information about the state of each individual electrode of a booster or all-electric furnace, so that advancing

work can be planned.

The second system is used to continuously monitor refractory wear. The results are presented in time lapse video form so that very slow changes taking place over a long period of time can be identified. In this way weak spots can be identified before they become critical. Both systems are designed to increased furnace operational security. Sorg will also show a new electrode holder design, and details of the latest installations.
