In two shocking incidents that may have been unrelated, the tombstones of Binyamin Zeev Herzl and first prime minister of Israel, David Ben-Gurion, were smeared with graffiti. Ben-Gurions tombstone in the Negev kibbutz of Sde Boker, where the elderly prime minister spent his final days, was sprayed with the word Hitler spelled out in Hebrew.

Herzls tombstone on Mt. Herzl, the Zionist shrine that bears its founders name, was sprayed with the words neo-Nazis and Yossi Beilin in Hebrew scrawl.
