Bioterrorism and Smallpox.(Letter to the Editor)

I am writing to advise you that I believe there is an error in the article "Bioterrorism and Smallpox: Policies, Practices, and Implications for Social Work," in the April 2005 issue. Specifically, in Table 1, "Potential Bioterrorism Agents," the authors identify the primary method of transmission of pneumonic plague as "contact with infected fleas." This is not true, according to information I received from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and from the Morris County Office of Health Management.
