Steroidogenesis Inhibitors International, Inc. (OTCBB:STGI)(TRADEGATE-SSJ-920435) reports it will begin a new clinical trial at Georgetown University Medical Center under the direction of Dr. Vassilios Papadopoulos.

The Company intends to demonstrate its hypothesis that ANTICORT(tm) acts by inhibiting adrenal cortisol synthesis, thus lowering the circulating cortisol levels in the blood. Consequently, ANTICORT(tm) then modulates the immune response of infected individuals, leading to a more effective response to HIV, and other autoimmune diseases such as some forms of cancer, and aging.

STGI will test the above hypothesis with two specific goals:

1. To determine the effect of ANTICORT(tm) in a human cell model system and its effect on the ACTH stimulated corticosteroid biosynthesis. Moreover, in addition to Procaine-HCL, the effects of each one of the components present in ANTICORT(tm) will be examined.

2. To investigate the in-vivo dose dependant effect of ANTICORT(tm) on adrenal function in rats.

STGI anticipates that the data generated from these in vitro and in vivo studies will provide conclusive evidence about the effect of ANTICORT(tm) and its bioactive components on adrenal corticosteroid synthesis in rodent and human models. These results will provide additional support for the use of ANTICORT(tm) to control cortisol levels and improve the immune function of HIV-infected individuals. It is anticipated that these studies will be completed within a 4-6 month time frame from the start date.

It is believed that cortisol is a very destructive hormone when produced in excess by the adrenal gland, and can cause disruption and even destruction of numerous cells and even major systems of the body such as the immune system itself. Therefore, a compound such as ANTICORT(tm) that can suppress the body's ability to create those hormones in excess levels can have a major impact on overall health and immune system functioning.

STGI is pursuing the worldwide development and distribution of its drug, ANTICORT(TM), which is currently in the clinical trial process as an anticortisol, steroidogenesis inhibitor drug for the treatment of immune deficiency in AIDS/HIV+ and other diseases such as Aging.
