ResCare (Nasdaq/NM:RSCR), the nation's leading provider of services to persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities and youth with special needs, today announced that ResCare's managed Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village (SIRYV) in Vincennes, Indiana, achieved a perfect score on a recent audit conducted by the American Correctional Association (ACA). Meeting the 28 mandatory and 375 non-mandatory standards earns the program a three-year accreditation. Southwest Indiana Youth Village provides detention, short- and long-term staff-secure residential, substance abuse programs and transitional and independent living services for up to 160 children between the ages of nine and 18.

"After a thorough and comprehensive audit, we found the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village to be in 100% compliance with our national standards. The staff is very professional and caring and provides the residents of the Youth Village with a safe, secure and humane environment," said Albert Dawson, a member of the audit team of the nationally recognized association. "The community should know they are in good hands."

In written comments after the review, Matt Novak, chair of the audit team indicated that he has been auditing youth facilities for more than 20 years, and he has only given out a perfect score twice - both to the Youth Village. He further commented, "After three days of intense observation, I have found this to be a top-notch operation. It is, by far, one of the cleanest facilities I have ever seen. The staff is committed to providing the best of care for youth." In the exit interview, auditor Gerald Ellsworth, stated, "It is always a great pleasure to perform an audit of an exceptional place like the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village."

"We are very proud to be associated with Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village," said Ronald G. Geary, ResCare chairman, president and chief executive officer. "The program exemplifies the fine standards of quality services that all ResCare operations strive to achieve. I want to commend the staff and management at the Youth Village, who work very hard every day to maintain the high expectations they have of themselves and of the services they provide to the children."
