Former dancer from the Broadway production

of the Phantom of the Opera vows to help fight

childhood obesity with free classes for the underprivileged

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released a study that states poor diet and lack of physical activity was the second leading cause of death in the United States in 2000. In a vow to help fight this epidemic, Leslie Judge, proprietor of Beverly Hills Ballet School, will offer free weekly classes to qualified underprivileged families to aid parents in keeping their children healthy and fit. Judge will also donate a portion of the proceeds from the school to help fight childhood obesity.

"This is a very serious cause and it's becoming worse each and every year. As a business owner, it's the very least I can do," said Judge.

Judge has choreographed and danced in a video production for Vanessa Williams and performed with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in performances of La Traviata and Parsifal. Most recently she completed work as a dancer with the Broadway production of the Phantom of the Opera.

The Beverly Hills Ballet School is located at 208 South Beverly Drive in the heart of Beverly Hills.
