Mar. 11--Goodbye Pepsi, potato puffs and pizza. Hello, Poland Spring, soy chips and low-fat yogurt.
If Rep. Joseph McNamara, a Pawtucket teacher, has his way, all carbonated sodas and high-fat snacks would be banned in Rhode Island's elementary and middle schools. In their place, vending machines would offer healthy substitutes such as water, milk and all-natural fruit drinks.
High schools would still be allowed to sell soft drinks, but they would be encouraged to of
