Torre Lazur McCann has appointed Marci Piasecki chief executive for its U.S. operations following the resignation of Beverley Breitenbach. Piasecki, who previously headed East Hanover, NJ.-based Echo Torre Lazur, reports to Richard Nordstrom, chairman and chief executive of Torre Lazur McCann Worldwide.
Procter & Gamble has hooked up with the NFL in a two-year deal worth about $10 million. P&G's Prilosec OTC, whose advertising is handled by Publicis Croupe's Medicus NY, will become a league sponsor with full rights to the NFL and Super Bowl logos. The brand will also appear on NFL Network.
Ascend Media has named Will Passano to head its medical-dental division, including Cardiology Review and Physician's Money Digest. Passano joins from Jobson, where he served as president of Jobson Education Group, and was previously chief executive of SCP communications.
Pfizer's Lyrica will hit store shelves in the Fall. The company is waiting for final designation from the Drug Enforcement Agency - execs expect it to win the lowest designation. The drug won FDA approval for the treatment of epilepsy in June, and for treatment of pain associated with diabetes and shingles in January.
