The Institute for Advanced Studies in Aging & Geriatric Medicine will host the International Conference on Immunology & Aging at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC, June 14-16, 2002.

The Conference, an unprecedented gathering of international researchers, physicians, public health specialists, industry thought leaders, government representatives, and educators provides a comprehensive forum to examine the latest discoveries around the important role of the immune system in aging.

This global event includes discoveries by aging experts on such key bodies of research as Aging and HIV - which reveals the role of age in the immune system's response to HIV, a rapidly progressing virus among the elderly. Other research areas include such timely topics as vaccines, nutrition, and age-associated diseases such as anemia.

The Conference, hosted by the Institute for Advanced Studies in Aging & Geriatric Medicine, is presented in collaboration with the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases and the International Association of Gerontology, with corporate support from Amgen, Celgene Merck Vaccine Division, Wyeth Lederle Vaccines, and Wyeth Oncology.
