Dr. Taglietti began his pharmaceutical career in Clinical Research at Marion Merrel Dow Research Institute (now part of Aventis) in Gerenzano, Italy. In 1992, he joined Schering-Plough Research Institute, Kenilworth, New Jersey, where he held numerous positions of increasing responsibility, including the position of Vice President for Worldwide Clinical Research in the therapeutic areas of -- Anti-Infectives, Oncology, Neuroscience, Endocrinology and Dermatology. Dr. Taglietti's development team produced breakthrough drugs for primary brain tumors, invasive fungal infections that develop in organ transplants or in cancer, and drugs for community respiratory bacterial infections.
A native of Italy, Dr. Taglietti earned his medical degree from the University of Pavia in Italy, trained at the University hospital and is Board Certified in both Dermatology and Infectious Diseases. He continues to teach special Clinical Trial Science courses at the University of Pavia.
Dr. Taglietti will report directly to Charles W. Stiefel, CEO, and will be headquartered in Stiefel's corporate offices in Coral Gables, Florida.
