fucoTHIN(TM) is Number One Weight Management Supplement in Natural Products Industry According...

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Dieters have spoken. Garden of Life's fucoTHIN[TM] is the #1 weight management supplement in the Natural Products Industry, as verified by SPINS for the 12 week period ending September 8, 2007.

Rarely has a supplement seen such dramatic growth and demand

in the industry, but fucoTHIN's clinical studies, non-stimulant formula, and ability to target visceral "belly" fat have propelled it to the number one spot.

fucoTHIN is the most powerful fucoxanthin-based supplement on the market as well as the only one backed by human clinical trials. This supplement contains a proprietary blend of fucoxanthin, a carotenoid found in brown seaweed, and pomegranate seed oil. The formulation used in the study is the same exact formula used in the product. fucoTHIN's proprietary formula was researched and developed for more than seven years by leading scientists, and is 200 to 500 times more concentrated than the edible seaweeds.

"fucoTHIN is flying off the shelves because it boosts metabolism without causing jitters or nervousness," said Jordan Rubin, Founder and CEO of Garden of Life, and New York Times best-selling author of The Maker's Diet. "We're aware that other companies are scrambling to duplicate this product. However, fucoTHIN is the only one that yields a highly concentrated amount of fucoxanthin in each capsule, making it bio-available for human consumption. Also, none of our competitors have the clinically proven studies we have conducted to verify results."

Rubin said that in two double-blind, placebo-controlled studies consisting of 150 females, in the first study, those taking fucoTHIN and following an 1800-calorie per day diet lost an average of 14.5 pounds compared to three pounds in the placebo group. In the other study, the average metabolic rate increased by 18.2% after 16 weeks. In addition, body fat loss was 11.8 pounds in the fucoxanthin group compared to 2.8 pounds in the placebo group. The clinical trials are pending publication in a peer reviewed journal in early 2008.

Bolstering these results is a group of people in Toledo, where 126 participants lost a collective 1700 pounds in 11 weeks using fucoTHIN along with other non-weight-related supplements and following a weight management program. The average weight loss among the 126 participants was 13.5 pounds. The average body fat loss was 4.3 percentage points, or a 14.9 percent improvement.

fucoTHIN promotes thermogenesis, targeting fat cells that accumulate in and around the abdominal region. Unlike some metabolism enhancers (e.g. ephedra, caffeine, and guarana), fucoTHIN has no effect on the nervous system. The supplement does not cause jitters, nervousness or lost sleep.

"Combined with a healthy diet and exercise program, fucoTHIN can be an important addition to a healthy weight management plan," said Joseph Brasco, M.D., a board certified gastroenterologist in Huntsville, Alabama, who recommends the supplement to his patients who want to lose weight.
