Siemens IC Networks has been commissioned by China's leading carrier, China Telecom, to upgrade the company's optical network in Gansu. The new SURPASS hit multi-service provisioning platform will in future allow China Telecom to offer data services based on Ethernet in the metro domain alongside traditional SDH-based voice services. The carrier will benefit from the clear competitive advantages offered by the solution being employed in China for the first time.
