FEW USERS ARE READY TO BUY STUFF WITH THEIR WIRELESS DEVICES, BUT PILOT PROGRAMS LOOK TO CHANGE ALL THAT WHILE MANY PEOPLE HAVE ONLY RECENTLY BEGUN to use wireless phones and personal digital assistants to access the Internet, vendors are hoping those users will be ready to jump quickly to the next stage of Internet growth: wireless commerce. The companies want to monetize the applications they have developed in areas like banking, financial services, shopping, and travel. But so far, few users are ready to start using the devices to make purchases. Will they begin doing so soon?
