Time Warner Cable customers in New York City will have the opportunity to enjoy Showtime and The Movie Channel FREE beginning Friday, July 14th through Sunday, July 16th.
Customers who tune into the Freeview are invited to watch last summer's surprise hit, The Blair Witch Project, making its premiere exclusively on Showtime. Following The Blair Witch Project premiere is The Burkittsville 7, the next chapter in The Blair Witch mythology. The Burkittsville 7 was created especially for Showtime and can only be seen on the network. Additional box office hits airing during the preview include: Payback, starring Mel Gibson, Lucy Liu and Kris Kristofferson; Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant; The General's Daughter, starring John Travolta and Madeleine Stowe and Star Trek: Insurrection, starring Patrick Stewart and The Rugrats Movie.
Viewers can also watch a new Showtime Original Picture, Who Killed Atlanta's Children? starring James Belushi and Gregory Hines, the film explores the case that gripped the nation. Who Killed Atlanta's Children? airs Sunday, July 16th at 8 PM.
The Movie Channel Freeview features daily movie marathons. On Friday, July 14th, beginning at 7:00 PM, the "Can't Believe My Eyes" marathon includes What Dreams May Come, At First Sight, and Jerry Springer in Ringmaster; the theme is "Temper Tantrums" on Saturday, July 15th starting at 6:35 PM and features Godzilla, Varsity Blues and The Rage: Carrie 2 and on Sunday, July 16th, beginning at 4:00 PM, the "Comic Capers" marathon debuts with The Cowboy Way, Dirty Work and Neil Simon's The Odd Couple II.
Customers who subscribe to Time Warner's Digital Television service in upgraded neighborhoods will receive the extended Freeview for all Showtime channels including Showtime 2, Showtime 3, Showtime Extreme, Showtime Beyond and The Movie Channel 2.
