Globalstar, the world's leading handheld satellite phone provider, today followed up last week's dramatic U.S. and Caribbean price reductions with similar price reductions of up to 75% for registered users in Canada, making truly low-cost satellite telephony available in one of the company's fastest growing markets.

Under the new pricing plans announced today by Globalstar Canada, calls can be made from virtually any place in Canada for as low as 32 Canadian cents per minute (approx. 21 U.S. cents), with no long distance charges for calls to anywhere in Canada, the continental U.S., Alaska, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, along with their respective maritime regions. Handset prices have also been reduced to a recommended list price of C$995 (US$638)
