FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 2002
Greenhold Group, Inc. (OTCBB:GHGI) today announced the sale of its subsidiary, Online Services USA, Inc. (OLSUSA), dial-up subscriber base to
"The transfer of OLSUSA's subscriber base to EarthLink is in the best interest of our subscribers and will allow Greenhold to focus on its areas of expertise, including web hosting, wireless services, high speed connectivity and disaster recovery," said John D. Harris, president of Greenhold. "We are confident that our OLSUSA subscribers will be very pleased with EarthLink, which is an award-winning company recognized for its superior service and competitive pricing."
"We're pleased and proud to welcome Online Services' subscribers into the EarthLink family and to offer them the full range of EarthLink services, from the personal touch of our customer service representatives to our broadband and wireless offerings, helpful navigation tools and personalized home pages," said Cliff Bryant, director of acquisitions for EarthLink.
The transfer of subscribers is also part of Harris's strategy to return to the successful business model that launched his Internet career six years ago, that being the marketing and registration of domain names under country code top level domains (ccTLDs). On April 15, 2002, Greenhold completed a five million dollar acquisition of Dot(SR), Inc. (http://www.register.sr), the exclusive registry of domain names ending in dot-sr (.sr), the Senior domain. Dot(SR) provides domain name registration services for entities to secure their brands and trademarks and to enable targeted marketing to Seniors. Dot(SR) has secured Registrar relationships with leading domain name registration companies, including eNIC Corporation, a subsidiary of VeriSign (Nasdaq:VRSN), and the Corporate Services Division of Register.com (Nasdaq:RCOM). The company has also registered .sr domain names to such notable companies as Amazon (Nasdaq:AMZN), Yahoo (Nasdaq:YHOO), Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC), Dell (Nasdaq:DELL), AT&T (NYSE:T), Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK). Harris, whose previous company acquired the rights to register .md domain names for use by the medical community, believes businesses will come to realize the value of having a Senior dedicated website under .sr that targets Seniors and Baby Boomers, a powerful economic group consisting of more than 77 million people in the United States alone and 1.3 billion prospects across four languages."
