MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2002
Internet Exchange Services Pioneer to Discuss Rising Importance of
Content and Peering in the Internet Economic Hierarchy
Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq:EQIX), the leading provider of core Internet exchange services, today announced that company Founder and CTO Jay Adelson will be a featured speaker at the upcoming "Storewidth 2002 Conference -- Where Infinite Bandwidth and Storage Converge."
The conference, hosted by industry analyst George Gilder and featuring executives from the storage and networking industries, will take place March 25-27 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Laguna Niguel, Calif. Adelson's session, entitled "Peering and Exchange Supercenters," will take place at 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27. The session will cover three areas: the impact of Internet exchange points in fundamentally changing the architecture of the Internet over the past two years; the rise in political, economic and technological power of content in the Internet economic hierarchy; and, the role content and network peering will play at the hubs of Internet traffic.
The Storewidth conference focuses on the interface between bandwidth and storage -- how to convert abundant bandwidth and vast heterogeneous troves of stored data into accessible information. The Gilder Technology Report introduced the storewidth paradigm to distinguish an era of dramatic storage and networking innovation from the era of isolated direct attached storage tethered to servers. Speakers at the conference include executives from IBM, EMC, Akamai, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Google and numerous other innovative technology companies.
