The appointment of Gilbert is effective immediately and increases the Board of Directors to six. As MidStream Technologies expands its sales efforts and achieves greater customer adoption of MidStream's IP2000 Video Server line, Gilbert's twenty years executive management experience in telecommunications, broadband services, and cable television is invaluable to the Company.

Currently, Gilbert currently serves as Managing Partner for Sandalwood Investments, an independent venture investment and advisory firm, where he is an investor and serves on the board or as an advisor to several companies in addition to MidStream Technologies including: BigBand Networks, HCORP (Hospital Network), Narad Networks, Ellacoya Networks, Sensitron, IVAST and Security Broadband Corp.

Gilbert is former EVP/GM for @Home Network and former CEO of @Home Solutions, a JV formed to serve the small and mid-size cable markets. As General Manager of @Home from 1996-2000, he had P & L responsibility for the consumer services division of @Home Corporation with annualized revenue of over $275 million. As founding GM of the @Home division, Gilbert played a leadership role in building the business from its first subscriber to more than 2 million subscribers. He also led the effort to develop partnerships with 23 cable operators worldwide, making @Home Network the largest broadband Internet service provider.
Prior to @Home, he was president and CEO of Positive Communications, Inc., a venture capital backed independent provider of wireless products and services with more than 400 employees and $50 million in annual revenues. Gilbert's past experience also includes a position as Executive Vice President, Group Operations at KBLCOM, Inc. (dba Paragon Cable), where he managed five operating divisions with annualized revenues of $250 million. He also served on the Board of Paragon Communications, a joint venture of KBLCOM and Time-Warner.
