The preparation of a polyoxymethylene (POM) copolymer is described. The POM copolymer is used for the production of mouldings, in particular semi-finished and finished articles. The copolymer is used as engineering material for manufacturing mouldings of high dimensional stability which have a smooth surface and which are produced to strict tolerance limits
