Mar. 3--For the second time this year, a local technology company has been acquired by an out-of-state company.

SmartPath, a 40-employee company in Morrisville that makes marketing software, said Tuesday that New York-based DoubleClick has agreed to buy it for an undisclosed amount. The all-cash deal is expected to close in the next several weeks. It comes a month after Raleigh-based Haht Commerce was bought for $30 million by Global eXchange Services of Maryland
