At $99.2 million, the Easter weekend sesh put up its lowest B.O. total since 2001, and a lack of marketplace depth was partly to blame. Though four pics cleared $10 million for the frame (the most since 2002's record-setting sesh), just 12 titles grossed more than $1 million, a low for the holiday weekend not matched since 1990. Each of the top five films, seen below, had lower grosses Saturday than on Good Friday, but overall business actually raised up 2% on Saturday.
