Mississippi gets aggressive in the movie business. (film locations) (Industry Overview)

Betty Lou, Huck Finn drop big bucks in state

With work beginning on the second feature film shot in the state this year, Mississippi is making strides toward recognition in the movie industry as more than just a southern location.

Leading the uphill battle is the Mississippi Film Commission which out of its Jackson office is trying to make it easy for film makers to choose Mississippi locations and keep home grown talent in state.

Currently, Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn is being filmed in Natchez, the town that beat out possible locations from Wisconsin t
