NE Ohio on the silver screen.(News)(Brief article)(Statistical data)

"Spider-Man 3'' is winding down its run at the box office, but it's far and away the most successful movie ever filmed partially or entirely in Northeast Ohio. With a domestic box office gross of $318.3 million as of June 3, it's way ahead of 1997's "Air Force One,'' which featured scenes shot at Cleveland City Hall.

The list doesn't include a classic: Billy Wilder's 1966 comedy "The Fortune Cookie,'' released before movies were mostly vehicles for selling toys.
