Pacific Microsonics Doubles Number of HDCD CDTitles.

UNION CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 10, 1999--

Pacific Microsonics (PMI) announced today that the number of HDCD encoded CD titles has doubled from 2,000 at the end of November 1998 to over 4,000 titles at the end of October 1999.

This exceeds the rate that Pacific Microsonics

projected last year. "HDCD has become integral to the recording process at the top mastering studios and mastering engineers are producing new HDCD recordings at an unprecedented pace. For example, the elite mastering engineers at Bernie Grundman Mastering have recently produced over 100 HDCD-CD titles at their Los Angeles and Tokyo studios," explains Michael Ritter, Vice President Pro Audio for Pacific Microsonics, Inc.

HDCD titles have been produced by an installed base of HDCD encoders in other highly recognized mastering studios in the world's leading music centers including New York, Boston, San Francisco, Nashville, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, Paris and Stockholm. Over 300 record labels worldwide have released HDCD recordings covering all types of musical genres. Recent HDCD releases that are on the Billboard Top 200 chart include:
