NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 2001

4Kids Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: KDE) is pleased to announce that it is changing the name of its licensing subsidiary Leisure Concepts Inc. to 4Kids

The name change reflects the worldwide recognition that 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. has achieved as producers, marketers and distributors of hit properties such as Pokemon.

The 4Kids Entertainment Licensing banner is making its official debut today, June 12, 2001 to coincide with the start of the New York Licensing show.

Commenting on the historic name change, 4Kids Entertainment Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Al Kahn said: "The name Leisure Concepts and its abbreviation LCI have long stood to represent the best in licensing. Throughout the years, LCI has become synonymous with the representation of some of the top entertainment properties such as Nintendo, Pokemon, Alf, James Bond and World Championship Wrestling. We intend to honor that legacy by continuing to represent the best new children's entertainment properties."

Leisure Concepts, Inc. began as an independent licensing company in 1970. In 1992, Leisure Concepts, Inc. added television distribution and media buying capabilities through its subsidiary, The Summit Media Group, Inc. In the mid-nineties the Company expanded into television production through its subsidiary 4Kids Productions, Inc. In the past year, the Company also has added a new division, Technology 4Kids and a new subsidiary, Websites 4Kids, Inc.

4Kids Entertainment Licensing sports its new name at a time when the company represents some of the most prominent properties in licensing, including Yu-gi-oh!, the newest kids sensation out of Japan which will debut this coming fall on KidsWB!.
