CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 2001
Computer developer and publisher NovaLogic announced today a partnership with a well-known fantasy artist duo who will be working on "Necrocide(TM)," a first-person gothic shooter game that is slated for a summer 2001 release.
The artists, illustrator Oscar Chichoni and architect/designer Isabel Molina, worked on the art production team that won an Oscar for Miramax's film "Restoration," a 17th century period piece. Chichoni and Molina will help design the architectural environments that will establish the visual style of the various realms in "Necrocide."
They will also create the main vampire character and her mentor, which will be part of the retail box design.
Chichoni is a renowned science fiction illustrator who recently received critical and popular acclaim for "Mekanika," a book of his work that was published in May 2000.
Chichoni and Molina joined forces and combined their talents in 1994 in order to do conceptual design and give artistic direction for projects in the film, television and video game industries. They have worked on Douglas Adams' "Starship Titanic," and served as conceptual art consultants for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
"This project is very exciting for us because we enjoy working with stylish themes, which are gothic in this case and make up a major element in 'Necrocide,'" said Chichoni. "We've been quite impressed by what NovaLogic is capable of, and we're looking forward to incorporating our ideas into the final vision."
In "Necrocide," the fate of humanity rests in the hands of a female vampire character who must defeat undead creatures as she progresses through a series of five realms.
"It is a real privilege to have Chichoni and Molina working with our team," said Wallace Wachi, producer of "Necrocide." "They bring a tremendous amount of talent and vision to the project, which will enhance the game."
