The MTV Latin America Music Awards announced this week that peermusic's Juanes was one of the top nominated artists, receiving five nominations, along with BMG artist Diego Torres and Sony Music's
Juanes, whose second album, "UN DIA NORMAL," (Surco/Universal) has received critical acclaim, is nominated for the following awards: Artist Of The Year, Video Of The Year ("A Dios Le Pido"), Best Artist Northern Region, Best Rock Artist Of The Year and Best Male Artist Of The Year. BMG artist Diego Torres received a nomination for Video Of The Year for the video of "Color Esperanza," a song co-written with peermusic's Coti Sorokin, who as an artist/songwriter/producer, is one of peer's most prolific acts. Thalia is nominated for Best Female Artist Of The Year and Sin Bandera is nominated for Best New Artist Northern Region. Daniela Herrera received the Best New Artist Southeast Region thanks to the single "Todo Al Reves," another Coti Sorokin composition. The awards show will take place on October 24, 2002 in Miami, Florida.
