BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 2004

Just as horror fans will be getting a new taste of blood from the upcoming theatrical release of "Van Helsing," they'll also be able to take a bite out of horror film classics "Frankenstein Must

be Destroyed," "Dracula Has Risen from the Grave" and "Taste the Blood of Dracula," being eternally preserved on DVD with widescreen transfers April 27 by Warner Home Video (WHV).

The "Horror Classics Collection" will also be available as a six-disc set including these three new DVD releases as well as the classics "Curse of Frankenstein," "Horror of Dracula" and "The Mummy." The collection will sell for $68.92 SRP. Each of the titles will also be available individually for $19.97 SRP and will include the theatrical trailer, English and French language soundtracks and subtitles in English, French and Spanish.

Frankenstein and Dracula's film popularity soared in the 1950s, '60s and '70s with the vivid re-interpretations made famous by Hammer Films, widely known as the premier horror film producer with their trademark blend of gothic melodrama and distinctive color cinematography. The films feature actors Christopher Lee and the late Peter Cushing. Lee, who starred in those films as Dracula, Frankenstein's monster and the Mummy, is perhaps better known to young audiences as "Count Dooku" in "Star Wars" and "Saruman the White" in "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy." His partner in horror Cushing, who starred as the quintessential Van Helsing determined to rid the world of evil Dracula and the indelible Dr. Frankenstein, will be best remembered by younger audiences for his performance as the "Grand Moff Tarkin" in "Star Wars IV."
