Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Arista Records have joined forces to mark the DVD debuts of two of today's hottest recording artists - Avril Lavigne and the Neptunes - it was jointly announced today by Antonio "L.A." Reid, President and CEO, Arista Records, and Mike Dunn, President, Fox Home Entertainment. Available on November 4th, MY WORLD, the live concert movie by multi-platinum Arista recording artist Avril Lavigne also includes an exclusive, behind-the-scenes featurette and five hit music videos, plus a six song bonus audio CD that includes four unreleased tracks. The first direct-to-DVD movie starring Pharrell Williams, The Neptunes Present: DUDE...WE'RE GOING TO RIO!, features music from their brand new debut album The Neptunes Present...Clones, in addition to a never-before-seen N.E.R.D. performance of "Rock Star" and arrives on December 9th. The Avril Lavigne and Neptunes DVDs carry suggested retail prices of $26.98 and $22.98, respectively.
"The marriage of music content with movie distribution channels at retail is an idea whose time has finally arrived," said Mr. Reid. "The expansion that this gives our artists in the marketplace has the potential to reach the widest possible audience. Launching this partnership with two such successful and highly visible artists as Avril Lavigne and the Neptunes is an indication of our total belief in the long-term benefits that lie ahead for our new association with Fox."
"This partnership with Arista allows us to apply our expertise in home entertainment to the growing music DVD arena," said Dunn. "Our world-class, state-of-the-art distribution capabilities will help insure the best possible placement for these products at retail, while satisfying the overwhelming consumer demand for hot new music content on DVD."
