NEW YORK -- Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp and Reese Witherspoon All Receive Nods in Moviegoer-Selected Nomination Process
Harry Potter, Star Wars, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were just a few of the films and actors nominated in the eleventh annual Moviefone Moviegoer Awards,
Johnny Depp, who won Best Actor in the last two Moviegoer Awards for his roles in Finding Neverland and Pirates of the Caribbean, goes for the hat trick with his third nomination in as many years for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Reese Witherspoon - herself a previous winner for Sweet Home Alabama - adds a Moviegoer Award nomination to the accolades she's received for her role in Walk the Line. Each of the three previous Harry Potter films have been nominated for Movie of the Year, but have been unable to bring home the gold. Will the fourth time be the charm for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire or will the force of Star Wars: Episode III be too much to overcome?
In addition to traditional categories such as Movie of the Year and Actor of the Year, the Moviefone Moviegoer Awards, sponsored by JC Penney, also offers more offbeat categories including Biggest Badass, Vilest Villain, and Most Hysterical Performance.
Beginning today, moviegoers everywhere can visit the Moviefone.com(R) web site to cast their votes. Voting ends on February 24 and the winners will be announced on February 28.
The following nominees were selected by moviegoers through a nationwide poll on the Moviefone service.
