The United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) has notified Webley Systems, Inc., that all 28 claims made by Webley in its original patent application for unified communications technology will be allowed.
The 28 claims made by Webley's application pertain to the use of any basic platform cluster with independent speech recognition to provide any of the most common aspects of unified communications using any communication device connected to traditional telephone networks or the Internet.
"The PTO's sweeping allowance of Webley's patent application clearly verifies and validates our leadership in communications convergence technology," said Taj Reneau, Webley's Chief Executive Officer.
"Our media switching platform is the first to be based on SIP -- Session Initiation Protocol," Reneau explained. "With SIP, carriers and large enterprises can deliver an explosion of new communications services to literally millions of users via the Internet."
