Statesville, N.C.-Based Internet Service Provider Targets High Point-Area.

Aug. 2--A Statesville-based Internet service provider is aiming to provide a less-expensive - and wireless - option to Triad residents. VeloceNet plans to enter an increasingly crowded High Point and Triad ISP marketplace by year's end, officials said Thursday. The company is in the process of securing leases on towers or building rooftops to place its transmitters in High Point, said Billy Self, VeloceNet's manager of employment services. It also has formed an alliance with EnergyUnited to lease its power poles.
