HCEA Opens New Offices

The Historical Construction Equipment Association (HCEA) opened a new Office and Archives Building. The dedication featured an open house, during which office manager Elaine Angel and archivist Thomas Berry showed off HCEA's new home, which brings all of the archives together under one roof for

the first time since its inception.

According to HCEA, the new building substantially improves its ability to fulfill its mission of preserving for public education the history of the construction, dredging and surface mining equipment industries. It provides climate-controlled storage for its archival holdings, in which some 2,000 manufacturers of equipment and accessories are represented. The collections include sales literature, photos, manuals and parts books, engineering drawings, audio-visual media, and business records.
